Long Live - Moe's Graveyard - Halloween 1991-?
Moe's Graveyard in Oak Forest, Illinois is the most spectacular yard display I have ever seen.
"Display" hardly conveys the monumental atmosphere of this monstrous yard extravaganza, which features every type Halloween decoration from inexpensive dollar store skeletons to elaborate animatronic characters.
Colored lights, fog machines, window projections, and spooky music are all expertly used to horror perfection, as live creatures lurk about adding an extra air of terror to this incredible haunted attraction.
I was especially fond of the blow mold graveyard, which was quite a kitschy collection to partake.
Moe's Graveyard began in 1991 in Tinley Park. Then relocated to Oak Forest in 1997.
Sadly, this is the last year for Moe's Graveyard, so I hope you had a chance to experience it before it was too late.
Update 22 October 2019: I just learned that after a 2018 hiatus Moe's Graveyard lives on and will continue to haunt us. 2020 is a leap year with Halloween on a Saturday, so they will be open in 2020, but after that they are planning to only be open every other year, but only time will tell.
