Black Halloween - Bo Diddley Is A Zombie (2019)

Fantastic new compilation of Halloween songs by black artists!

Koko-Mojo has culled a collection of some of the best Halloween songs by black artists ever assembled. As an avid Halloween music collector I had many of these song, and there are others that didn't make the cut — perhaps being unable to obtain copyrights played into that, because this could have easily been a 2-CD set — but, still, there are plenty of fresh tracks I was not familiar with, so I am pleased as punch over this nifty collection of spooky tunes.
Enjoy!

Lucifer - Black Mass (1971)

How Mort Garson Inspired Nightmare City Halloween

This is the album that started it all for me!

In 1973 I worked at "Scream In The Dark", Tulsa's ultimate Halloween haunted house attraction. Every night, all night long, the most incredible music played throughout the entire house. It was a cassette tape, looping the album "Black Mass" by Lucifer (Mort Garson), an incredible electronic music tour de force. I thought it was the most incredible music I had ever heard and that's when my love of Halloween music was born.

1. Solomon's Ring
2. The Ride Of Aida (Voodoo)
3. Incubus
4. Black Mass
5. The Evil Eye
6. Exorcism
7. The Philosopher's Stone
8. Voices Of The Dead (The Medium)
9. Witch Trial
10. ESP

Composed by Mort Garson.
