(Click image to go to the Nightmare City Halloween Scar Stuff page)

Nightmare City Halloween Presents Scar Stuff "The Spooky So Far" (2006) 10th Anniversary Tribute

In 2006 Jason Willis created the ultimate Halloween audio sharing blog which created the mold for which all other Halloween audio blogs aspired to emulate. Sadly, Jason was forced to remove most of his sharing links.

Now, 10 years later, in tribute to the original Scar Stuff Blog, Stevo In Yr Stereo of Nightmare City Halloween has lovingly restored all of the original The Spooky So Far shares to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Scar Stuff Blog.

Run, Don't Walk, to get these classic Halloween shares, before it's too late!!!

Click the images to visit the Nightmare City Halloween Scar Stuff Tribute Page.

Enjoy!

Monster University TV Special DVD (2010)

(Click image to get to the Monster University TV Special page)

Monster University TV Special Trailer

Mike "Von" Hoffman is one talented individual and this DVD is a culmination of all his talents as artist, musician and multimedia maven.

Nightmare City Halloween first became aware of Hoffman in 2004 with the introduction of the Monster University project's first release "Monster University The Soundtrack".

The Von Hoffman Orchestra has gone on to release two more Monster University albums "Monster University Touchdown!" and "Monster University Pajama Party", along with a sound effects album "Professor Von Hoffman's Halloween Haunted House CD".

(Click album images to visit to the Monster University Music page)

In my opinion, The Von Hoffman Orchestra is producing the greatest Halloween music of this modern age and his music deserves the same accolades as Bobby (Boris) Pickett of "Monster Mash" fame.

Von Hoffman has lovingly brought his music to life with the "Monster University TV Special" DVD, which features eight Von Hoffman compositions accompanied by limited animation cartoons, as well as a tour of Monster University, and introductions for each cartoon by Horace The Hippie Hunchback.

Highlights from the DVD include "Kid Frankenstein" "Dry Drac" and "Monster Mania", which are personal favorites of mine.

For the uninitiated, the "Monster University TV Special" is a great introduction to the many talents of Mike Hoffman, and I suggest you purchase a copy of this DVD and check out his websites for more great art, comics, and music!

The Ultimate Eerie Ambience Experience

Black Mass by Lucifer (1971)

This is the entire album!!

During the Halloween season of 1973 I worked at an incredible Haunted House attraction in Tulsa, Oklahoma called "Scream In The Dark"! This album played on a loop all night, every night and I thought it was the most incredible music I had ever heard.

It inspired me to start collecting Halloween audio and six years later in 1979 I started the radio show "Nightmare City Halloween", which is still going strong all these years later!

Sounds To Make You Shiver - Side A (1974)
(Adjust volume to 25%)

This is the first Halloween sound effects album I ever owned and still consider it the best Halloween sound effects album ever made!!!

Side A is the continuous soundscape!! Awesome!!!

Experience Eerie Ambience!!!

In 1980 I invented "Eerie Ambience" which is mixing multiple sound effects albums with scary music playing over them!

To experience this play, "Black Mass" by Lucifer and "Sounds To Make You Shiver" together setting the audio level for the sound effects quieter, so it doesn't drown out the music, but can still be heard!

ENJOY!

Lucifer - Black Mass (1971)

How Mort Garson Inspired Nightmare City Halloween

This is the album that started it all for me!

In 1973 I worked at "Scream In The Dark", Tulsa's ultimate Halloween haunted house attraction. Every night, all night long, the most incredible music played throughout the entire house. It was a cassette tape, looping the album "Black Mass" by Lucifer (Mort Garson), an incredible electronic music tour de force. I thought it was the most incredible music I had ever heard and that's when my love of Halloween music was born.

1. Solomon's Ring
2. The Ride Of Aida (Voodoo)
3. Incubus
4. Black Mass
5. The Evil Eye
6. Exorcism
7. The Philosopher's Stone
8. Voices Of The Dead (The Medium)
9. Witch Trial
10. ESP

Composed by Mort Garson.

Disney Forever - Haunted Mansion - Deluxe Edition

I have collected together all of the Haunted Mansion tracks available from the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Forever kiosks. Much thanks to the creators of the Forever Project for these great tracks!

Original recordings February to April 1969, unless otherwise indicated.

Disneyland Forever:

Track 1:
Haunted Mansion, "Foyer Music" 1:59 MONO

• This track contains two loops of the music Guests hear when entering the Haunted Mansion building. This track was originally known as "Organ Music." The track was available on Walt Disney World Forever as Haunted Mansion, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" (Foyer Music).

Track 2:
Haunted Mansion, "Doom Buggy Boarding Music" 2:00 MONO

• This track contains two loops of the boarding music. The track was available on Walt Disney World Forever as Haunted Mansion, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" (Doombuggy Boarding Music).

Track 3:
Haunted Mansion, "Ballroom Organ" 2:00 MONO

• This track contains two loops of the organ heard in the Haunted Mansion scene technically known as the Grand Hall, but commonly referred to as the Ballroom. The room's organ was used in the 1954 Disney film "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and appeared in the Tomorrowland exhibit. This track was originally known as Haunted Mansion, "Pipe Organ." The track was available on Walt Disney World Forever as Haunted Mansion, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" (Ballroom).

Track 4:
Haunted Mansion, "Graveyard Music" 1:47 MONO

• This is an instrumental music bed of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" heard throughout the Graveyard. The original release played the loop slightly more than twice; a May 1999 revision cleaned it up.

Track 5:
Haunted Mansion, "Exit Crypt Music" 1:59 MONO

• These two tracks contain the exit music (to the tune of "Grim Grinning Ghosts"). This May 1999 revision eliminates the Little Leota "Hurry back…" exit narration.

Track 6:
Haunted Mansion, "Full Show" 1 of 4 (unreleased) 4:15 MONO

• The track contains music, narration, and sound effects from the Foyer through the load area.

Track 7:
Haunted Mansion, "Full Show" 2 of 4 (unreleased) 5:47 MONO

• The track contains music, narration, and sound effects from the load area to the Grand Hall.

Track 8:
Haunted Mansion, "Full Show" 3 of 4 (unreleased) 5:34 STEREO

• The track contains music, narration, and sound effects from the Grand Hall through the Graveyard.

Track 9:
Haunted Mansion, "Full Show" 4 of 4 (unreleased) 5:36 STEREO

• The track contains music, narration, and sound effects from the Graveyard through the unload area, but not does contain the Little Leota "Hurry back…" exit narration.

• The above four tracks are an older flow-through of the Haunted Mansion than that created for the "Haunted Mansion 30th Anniversary" CD.

Track 10:
Haunted Mansion, "Graveyard Music" (original release) 2:04 MONO

• The track was available on Walt Disney World Forever as Haunted Mansion, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" (Graveyard).

Track 11:
Haunted Mansion, "Exit Crypt Music" (original release) 2:22 MONO

• This track was originally known as "Grim Grinning Ghosts." A similar version of the track was available on Walt Disney World Forever as Haunted Mansion, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" (Doombuggy Exit Music). In the WDWF track, Little Leota is heard first (as she is in the WDW attraction); here, the voice of Leota Toombs follows the music loop.

Walt Disney World Forever:

Track 12:
Haunted Mansion, "Foyer Music" 1:56 MONO

Track 13:
Haunted Mansion, "Doom Buggy Boarding Music" 1:57 MONO

Track 14:
Haunted Mansion, "Ballroom Organ" 2:02 MONO

Track 15:
Haunted Mansion, "Graveyard Music" 2:02 MONO

Track 16:
Haunted Mansion, "Exit Crypt Music" 2:22 MONO
